flying high again

Today is the last day of my week off. Slightly sad at the thought of not having more days off with my boy. Monday i had to go to college and we ended up staying in for the night and chilling out. Tuesday we took a walk through the meanwood valley trail and actually had a load of fun running around the woods and we got all the way to golden acre park. This seemed like a brilliant idea but after a few hours of walking we then realised that we had to do it all over again and get home. We met ponies on the way home though. I liked the little shetland one best i wanted to take him home.

I have never seen a grown man look so scared of a horse. He did tell me this is probably the first time in his life that he has plucked up the courage to actually touch a horse. After a few more hours of exploring the woods and making friends with ducks we made it back to meanwood park and played on the swings and i forgot how brilliant slides were.

Wednesday we spent the day bowling. Day time bowling deals are the best but it does mean my arm hurts for the next few days. I lost all 6 games we played. We ate terrible bowling food but did have slush puppies that made me pull a face at how cold it made my head.

Having lost all 6 games of bowling we went to shoot giant spiders and play air hockey. I was victorious when it came to air hockey.

I took my first trip the the chinese supermarket. Oh shit that place is amazing. I spent a fortune in there. We got brilliant little tea cups, soup spoons and a ton of ace food. Fresh green tea was probably our best purchase and since buying it its possible i have consumed my own body weight in green tea. Here are a few of our purchases.

Thursday we headed into town. We took a visit to the Leeds museum which was possibly a waste of my life. Can they really call this place a museum? The photography in there looked like a child had been given a camera and when i saw a pokemon in the china cabinet that was probably the final straw. This place was surely made with 5 year olds in mind? The dead animals made me feel very uncomfortable to know they were all hunting trophies.

So to cheer myself up we went to the chinese supermarket again. This time i got vegetable dumplings (gyoza type things) edamame beans (podded and de podded) yet more cooking sauces and soups. Oh and we induldged a little too much with mountain dew and cream soda. I got some excellent chillis too. I've started adding these to the curries and i'm pretty sure Martyn is going to take off one day whilst he's flapping around eatting.

Friday was a day of relaxing. I went out with the girls for a farewell to Tassy. As we speak she will be going back to London. I can't deny I'm very jealous of her going back down south.

Yesterday we were lazy and stayed in our pj's till 7pm, we finally got up and dressed made dinner and got ready for earth hour. We spent that hour eating dinner by candle light and playing trivial pursuit (bitesize edition). We actually had loads of fun just spending time with each other without any other distractions and decided we might have to make it happen more often. The kitten did do a fur singe on a candle though. sneaky little candle sniffer.

I've had my eyes opened to how two faced and spiteful people can be this week. I'm glad i know what i know and who i can trust. It did make me feel a little lonely as i didnt have this problem at home. Luckily i have a few friends here who i can really trust and Martyn is my rock through out everything. It sounds cheesy but he really is my best friend.

Next month i get to see my southern besties. Can't wait!!!
We watched a lot of movies this week. Igor and The Women were two of the best ones we saw.

catch up

The weekend was successful, I did lots of cleaning, went to the gym, watched movies and did a lot of bridal shopping. I found the dress I want on Sunday, luckily I had Carrie for company as Saturdays shopping on my own wasn’t as good. I’ll book an appointment to go back and have it fitted in May when I’m at least a stone lighter than I am now.

Oh films were watched this weekend. The Strangers and Eden Lake. Both of which have made me scared to be in my own home, as for camping lets not even get started on that. Blockbuster have sent us Meet Dave and The Mist now so we’ll see if they give me nightmares.

Monday was a day in college and our anniversary. Apparently 19th Jan was the most depressing day of the year?? I was possibly the only person over the moon. Martyn cooked us Mexican food and we watched lots of tv and he got me a little spoil. We’ve agreed to keep gifts to a minimum this year seeing as we need to save so much for next January.

Yesterday was my first day back at work this week, it dragged oh and I was late. I’m never late what is going on.
The venue for the reception got confirmed and they have a projector that we can play the wedding ceremony on so our friends and family can at least see that. Part of me still feels I might be being massively selfish but every time I see the beautiful beaches and island we will get married on I find it harder to care.

I’m really enjoying big chef takes on little chef at the moment, I even got sad when I got home too late from the gym and it was 20 minutes through last night (thank god for channel 4 +1).

This weekend Alice and Sheep are back up as Sheep is TM’ing for Horizon on the Kerrang tour. Excellent excuse for me to see Alice and we’re all doing a meal at Little Tokyo. Even better. Which reminds me, I must book a table!

Friday night Lock and Keys are playing the packhorse so that’s where I’ll be, which has made me very unpopular at work as I’m blowing everyone off to go see my friends band play. I much prefer my choice though.

I have my gym bag with me at work today so I can stop off on the way home. I have 5lbs to lose by the end of the month. I WILL do it!

Plans

This morning we found out that the MD of our company has sold his shares and jumped ship. A month or so ago he gave a huge speech on how we would make it through the recession and the company would be safe and now he does this??!!!??!!! Hardly fills you with confidence that your job is safe.

This weekend we made the decision to get romantic and do what we want on our own for the wedding. The place in Wetherby got cancelled and we are now going away in January to get married in Thailand all on our own and have a perfect hassle free day. The island we will get married on is called Koh Samui and then we’ll honeymoon traveling around Thailand. Perfect! I’m slightly sad my friends won’t share this day with me but this day really is about me and my boy and sharing the rest of our lives together.
You only get married once so it may as well be the best we can imagine. I posted off the deposit for it yesterday so it’s all booked, now we have to wait for the flights timetable to come online march/april time and then its all go.
Oh and kitten sitters?? What do I do with my little dude whilst we’re away?

This weekend I have appointments at two bridal shops, purely to try on gowns that are suitable for marrying on a beach, oh and I need hot flip flops. Where do I get brilliant flip flops that would go with a wedding gown? Oh the dilemma.
Super excited though. AND it’s a 1901 wedding (that’s when me and the boy got together)

When we get home the reception will happen somewhere in Leeds, who knows where yet.

I hate the after Christmas skint time. Officiallly the worst.
Tonight I have plans with Liena and then my weekend will be movies in and revising I guess.

That’s the only really exciting news I have.
